Veteran Fellowship Featured on In Depth with Francis Rose

Efiia™ Cares President Kelly O’Connor discusses role of Fellowship and how partners can get involved

Washington, DC – On November 17, 2011, Kelly O’Connor, President of Efiia Cares, was interviewed on In Depth with Francis Rose to discuss the Former Enlisted Veteran Fellowship. O’Connor had the opportunity to describe the features of the Fellowship, its benefits, and how partner companies can become involved in this year’s pilot program.

O’Connor stressed the mutually beneficial features of the Fellowship for companies and fellows. Companies can leverage the skills that veterans have gained during their enlistment, while veterans can utilize the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program to advance their education or vocational training.

President Obama has recently shown resounding support for similar employment and education programs for veterans. Under the VOW to Hire Heroes Act, veterans can apply for additional employment training, and companies that hire veterans are offered various tax benefits. The Veterans Fellowship is on track with the jobs goals of the administration and the President.

Partner companies currently include Booz Allen Hamilton, Orion International, and Career Builder, and Efiia Cares is still reaching out to a few more large systems integrators and defense contractors to participate in the 2012 pilot year. The Fellowship is slated for an on-time launch in January 2012.
